Hakimi, predominantly a right-back, filled in comfortably on the opposite wing and help set up fellow summer signing Axel Witsel for the opener in the 38th minute.
In the 73rd minute, his cross was swept in by Raphael Guerreiro to double the hosts’ lead.
Jason Sancho’s tap-in completed a treble of assist for the Morocco international, thus, matching the feat of Jordi Alba in Barcelona’s defeat of Tottenham Hotspur from the last matchday.
Guerreiro grabbed his brace to wrap up a comprehensive victory for the Bundesliga high-flyers over Diego Simeone’s sorry side.
Since making a temporary move to join Lucien Favre’s team, Hakimi has been a bright spot in the team, either filling in on the right or left.
